General terms and conditions of entry to the Gaborone Striders Runners Club 10×10 Challenge (hereafter referred to as challenge)

Refund or Cancellation Policy

  • If a participant withdraws from the race, they will not receive a refund of the entry fee.
  • However, the withdrawer may substitute their entry before the start of the challenge.

Prize Award

There are no prizes to be awarded for participating in the challenge

Challenge Rules

  • The 10×10 challenge is a 10-day consecutive running challenge from 27 November to 06 December 2025
  • Participants can run, walk or hike the challenge, as long as they cover the required minimum distance of 10km in a single activity.
  • Treadmill runs will not be accepted and therefore will not count towards the challenge.
  • The Challenge Finishers medals will be awarded for 100% completion only.
  • All challenge entrants will receive the official challenge t-shirt and goodie bag.
  • The challenge can be run from any location and will be monitored on Challenge Hound platform. Instructions on how to register for the challenge on the platform will be communicated with entrants.
  • All participants will be expected to create an account on Challenge Hound to enable monitoring of their progress on the 10×10 challenge.
  • All runs should be GPS tracked to count towards the challenge. Manual runs and/or entries will not be considered.
  • All participants will start and finish the race on the official challenge dates to be considered to have successfully completed the challenge.
  • All registered participants are entitled and encouraged to attend the grand finale even if they did not successfully complete the challenge however finisher medals will only be issued to those who have successfully completed all the 10 runs as per the 10×10 challenge rules.
  • The daily minimum 10km run must be covered in one single run or walk and shall not count if submitted in split in parts (e.g. 5km in the morning and 5km in the evening).
  • Non submissions (synchronization to the platform) of a run shall result in disqualification. The deadline for submission of results each day is 23:59:59hrs.
  • It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that their activity reflects on the challenge platform by the deadline.
  • No substitute runners are allowed.
  • Strict adherence to the challenge rules and instructions is expected from all participants.
  • The challenge is open to all interested participants within Botswana and across the world and entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis until all available slots are filled.
  • Prior to the start of the challenge activation runs will be organized and conducted in Gaborone covering essential topics in running the challenge successfully and most importantly setting up on the platform.
  • The challenge organizers reserve the right to refuse entry to the event or disqualify any participant or runner during the challenge for failing to adhere to set rules and regulations.

Foreign Athletes

  • As a foreign athlete, you must comply with IAAF Rule 4, which may necessitate obtaining written approval from your national federation to participate in another country.

Data Protection

  • Use of Personal Information: Your personal information will be used solely for the purposes of organising, managing, and conducting the 10×10 Challenge.
  • Use of Personal Information for Marketing: Please be aware that by participating, you consent to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes related to the current or future editions of the 10×10 Challenge
  • Data Retention: Your personal information will be securely stored and maintained for a period of two (2) years from the date of the challenge. After this period, your information will be permanently deleted from our records.

Challenge Indemnity

  • I am aware of the potential dangers of participating in any physical activity such as the 10×10 Challenge, including serious injury and/or death.
  • I agree and acknowledge that I should not participate unless I am medically fit and able to do so.
  • I agree to abide by any instructions given by 10×10 Challenge organizers, marshals and/or GSRC personnel with regard to my continued participation should they cite my safety as an immediate concern.
  • I agree and undertake to follow all safety rules, regulations & procedures in relation to my participation in the 10X10 Challenge.
  • I hereby indemnify the GSRC, its Committee, members, sponsors, trustees, employees, servants, agents or volunteers, and all persons associated with the 10X10 Challenge, against any and all claims of whatsoever nature and howsoever arising, and whether in respect any harm, injury, liability, death, loss or damage of any kind.
